HSR Relic Crafting: When Self-Modeling Resin Is Worth Using
Farming a domain for days and still missing one main stat is the moment most players look up how to craft relics in Honkai Star Rail.
Self-Modeling Resin lets you pick the exact main stat of a relic piece, which makes it the single most valuable crafting material in Honkai Star Rail. Because you only receive a handful per patch, spending it on the wrong slot sets a build back by weeks.
The rule of thumb is simple: craft the slot with the lowest natural drop rate for the stat you need. Body pieces with Crit Rate or Crit DMG and Rope pieces with Energy Regeneration are the classic examples. Feet with Speed are also worth it for supports that need a precise breakpoint.
Avoid using Resin on Head and Hands. Their main stats are fixed, so a regular Synthesizer roll does exactly the same job for a fraction of the cost. Save Resin for the Planar Ornaments of a new set when you have no pieces at all.
Finally, remember that crafting does not guarantee good sub-stats. If you already have a piece with the right main stat and three usable subs, keep farming instead of crafting over it.
